UOC parish joins Serbian Orthodox cross procession in Vienna
For the fifth time, Ukrainian Orthodox Church faithful joined a cross procession organized by the Austrian Eparchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Vienna.
On September 20, 2026, the rector and parishioners of a Ukrainian Orthodox Church parish in Vienna took part in a traditional cross procession through the city’s streets, organized by the Austrian Eparchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church, according to the UOC Department for External Church Relations.
The procession took place on the eve of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos and marked the fifth time the UOC community in Vienna had participated. Following the procession, a festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos.
The report noted that the participation of the UOC rector and parishioners in the Serbian Church’s celebrations was another testament to the spirit of fraternal prayer and the good relations between Orthodox communities serving in Austria.
As the UOJ reported, Bishop Veniamin of Boiarka previously visited UOC communities in Austria and Hungary.
