UOC-KP head accuses OCU of hacking social media accounts
Nikodym Kobzar said UOC-KP Facebook pages had been hacked and accused Dumenko’s organization of being behind it.
UOC-KP “Patriarch” Nikodym Kobzar issued a statement reporting that the organization’s official Facebook pages had been hacked. The statement, dated September 22, 2026, was published on the Patriarch Nikodym of Kyiv Telegram channel.
According to the document, the Facebook accounts of Nikodym himself and “Archbishop of Boryspil and Brovary” Yevhenii were hacked, along with the pages of the UOC-KP and its Petro Mohyla Sumy Theological Seminary. Kobzar said attempts to create new accounts had been unsuccessful – they were blocked again within several days, while access to the old pages could not be restored.
The statement blamed the OCU leadership for the alleged hacking, referring to the OCU as a “structure of the Istanbul Patriarchate.” Its authors claimed that the OCU was attempting to “silence the voice” of the UOC-KP and prevent the preservation of the legacy of the late Patriarch Filaret.
The statement also appealed to Ukrainian law enforcement agencies and the cyber police to identify those responsible for the hacking and hold them accountable.
As the UOJ reported, the UOC-KP previously “ordained” a “bishop” of Ternopil.
