The final word belongs to God

“I would have gone mad from the injustice of this world if I did not know that the final word belongs to God.”

These words ring with special power today.
Because we are all suffering – each in our own way.

Some weep in silence, unable even to speak.
Some seek comfort in prayer when the heart is torn apart by pain.
Some withdraw into themselves to hold on, not to lose faith.
And some, like me, first fall silent – then take up the pen, because silence has become impossible.

It hurts to watch when they cut the monastery doors with a grinder in Pochaiv,
when they seize a church in Volodymyr-Volynskyi,
when provocations flare up again in Chernivtsi,
and when the media pour out waves of lies, mockery, and twisted headlines.

As if someone is testing us – how much more can you endure?
How long can you bear it?
And then, when the heart cries out, “Where is justice? Where is conscience?” –
the words of Saint Paisios return to mind:

“I would have gone mad from the injustice of this world
if I did not know that the final word belongs to God.”

Because if we truly believe, then we must stand firm.
Not out of hatred, but out of hope.
For evil is loud – but short-lived.
God’s truth is quiet – yet eternal.

And even when it seems that no one hears us, that everything is against us – God is near.
And in every injustice we witness, there remains a space for our love,
our prayer,
our small but genuine testimony of faith.

We are not alone.
We are together in this struggle.
Each of us suffers in our own way – yet all in one Christ.
And that gives us strength to live, to pray – and to write.
