Dumenko holds "service" at seized UOC church in Boyarka
On September 29, the head of the OCU performed a "divine service" at St. Michael's Church in Boyarka and rewarded the raider-rector.
On September 29, 2026, the head of the OCU Epifaniy Dumenko was brought to the church in the town of Boyarka, Kyiv region, seized from the St. Michael community of the UOC, where, as the Telegram channel "Pershyi Kozatskyi" reports, he led the "liturgy."
On this day, as the OCU states, the church celebrated its 125th anniversary.
The shrine was seized in May 2023. At that time, a group of people in military uniforms burst into the church grounds and began beating parishioners and clergy. The attackers, as believers recounted, were led by OCU cleric Vasyl Lylo, who was subsequently appointed rector of the church.
According to the Telegram channel, Lylo already had premises in Boyarka. Since then, he has been moving his activists from one church to another in order to fill the emptiness. The head of the OCU presented Lylo with the Order of St. Michael the Archangel. In his address, Dumenko stated that this church "has seen a lot in its time."
"Truly, the long-suffering shrine endures much desecration from the OCU thieves," the channel comments.
