Several dozen people held an LGBT event in the Kharkiv metro.
On September 12, 2026, a gay pride march was held in the Kharkiv metro. Several dozen people carrying rainbow flags took part in the LGBT event under the protection of National Guard personnel.
The event began underground at the Universitet and Derzhprom metro stations. Participants then came to the surface and remained for some time near the metro exit. Nearby, activists from Prava Molod held a protest against the gay pride march. The two groups were separated by substantial police cordons, with dozens of police buses deployed at the scene.
The standoff ended without incident.
As previously reported by the UOJ, LGBT activists in Kharkiv had announced plans to hold the march.
