UOC lawyer Nikita Chekman called on believers to offer fervent prayers in connection with the upcoming hearing in the case of the Kyiv Metropolis.

Lawyer Nikita Chekman reported an increase in the number of participants in the court proceedings regarding the lawsuit to liquidate the Kyiv Metropolis of the UOC. According to him, nearly a thousand more people who believe their rights may be violated by a court ruling to liquidate the Metropolis of Kyiv have filed applications to participate in the court proceedings.

"I know that many more applications are being submitted," Archpriest Nikita Chekman said. "However, the court is not registering all the documents immediately because of their large volume."

The hearing on the DESS lawsuit will take place at 10.00 a.m. on September 10. The lawyer noted the symbolic significance of the date of the hearing. On this day, the Orthodox Church commemorates the Venerable Job of Pochaiv, who personally defended the monastery in courts, as well as the Venerable Fathers of the Kyiv Caves in the Far Caves.

"We ask you to intensify your prayers and trust in the mercy of God, Nikita Chekman appealed to Orthodox Christians. "If God is with us, who can be against us."

Earlier, the UOJ reported that more than 10,000 UOC believers filed applications to defend the Kyiv Metropolis.
