OCU holds procession with brass band on Independence Day
An OCU procession accompanied by a brass band was held in Rivne Region.
On August 24, 2026, an OCU procession dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day was held in the village of Demydivka, Rivne Region. Vasyl Bereziuk, a student at the OCU’s Rivne Seminary, posted a video of the event in the VSE pro Demydivshchynu online Facebook group. He titled the video: “Procession in Demydivka. Prayer for Ukraine.”
At the head of the procession was a group carrying church banners, followed by a brass band playing a festive march. A group of OCU clerics walked behind the musicians. The procession ended at the monument to Taras Shevchenko in the center of the village.
As the UOJ previously reported, an OCU “hierarch” in Volyn was greeted by a brass band playing a march before a service.
