Chapel dedicated to St. Amphilochius of Pochaiv consecrated in Stuzhytsia
A new chapel dedicated to St. Amphilochius of Pochaiv has been consecrated in the Mukachevo Eparchy of the UOC, the eparchy’s official website reports.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Theodor of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod, the rite of consecration was performed on August 22, 2026, in the village of Stuzhytsia, Uzhhorod District, by Bishop Ilarion of Svaliava, vicar of the Mukachevo Eparchy.
A water-blessing prayer service was held beside the newly built chapel, during which special prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, an end to the war and the health of members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the conclusion of the service, Bishop Ilarion conveyed Metropolitan Theodor’s archpastoral blessing and good wishes to those present. The bishop also thanked Archpriest Viktor Petryk, rector of St. Michael’s Church in Stuzhytsia, and everyone who took part in building the chapel, expressing the hope that the new holy place would become a center of prayer and spiritual strengthening for local residents.
As the UOJ reported, Metropolitan Theodor of Mukachevo consecrated a new church at a monastery in the village of Rakoshyno.
