25 sisters tonsured at Kypyache Tract convent
Twenty-five sisters took monastic vows and the lesser schema on the patronal feast day of the UOC convent in Polissia.
On March 28, 2026, on the day of the Praise of the Most Holy Theotokos, at the stavropegial Convent of the Athonite Icon of the Mother of God in the Kypyache Tract, Zhytomyr region, 25 sisters were tonsured into monasticism. This was reported on the convent's Facebook page.
The festive Divine Liturgy on the convent's patronal feast was celebrated by Archbishop Oleksandr of Horodnytsia, concelebrated by the convent's confessor Archpriest Roman Baranovsky and other clergy.
After the completion of the service, the bishop performed the rite of tonsure into monasticism and the lesser schema. On this day, 25 sisters took monastic vows.
As the UOJ wrote, monastic tonsure was performed at St. Michael's Church in Svitlovodsk.
