In Ternopil, Military Commissariat officers detain a UOC clergyman
A clergyman of the cathedral was detained yesterday and has not been released since.
On September 3, 2025, it became known that officers of the Military Commissariat (TRC) detained a cleric of the Cathedral of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love, and Sophia of the UOC, Deacon Vasyl Marko. This was reported by the Pershyi Kozatskyi Telegram channel.
The Ternopil Eparchy of the UOC stated that the detention occurred on September 2, 2025, and that the clergyman has not yet been released.
The clergy of the eparchy also called for prayers for the priests of the Ternopil eparchy who have been mobilized: Fr. Paphnutiy, Fr. Ihor, Fr. Ihor, Fr. Heorhiy, Fr. Heorhiy, Fr. Ioann, Fr. Heorhiy, and Fr. Vasyl.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the TRC had taken a UOC priest with many children directly from a cross procession in Pochaiv.
