Four nuns tonsured at Odesa Eparchy 's convent
The tonsure was performed by Archbishop Sergiy of Bolhrad.
On April 7, 2025, at the Nativity of the Theotokos Convent of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Oleksandrivka, Odesa region, Archbishop Sergiy of Bolhrad performed the monastic tonsure of four sisters, reports the press service of the Odesa Eparchy.
During the tonsure rite, Archbishop Sergiy instructed the sisters in the faith, emphasizing the importance of spiritual struggle and unceasing prayer.
The service concluded with prayers for the newly tonsured nuns and for all the sisters of the monastery, who carry out their daily spiritual labors in the name of God and the Church.
Earlier, the UOJ explored why the number of monastics in the UOC is increasing amid ongoing persecution.
