Monastic tonsure performed at Mykhniv Monastery in Volyn
Bishop Athanasiy of Kamin-Kashyrskyi officiated the tonsure.
On March 27, 2025, the Thursday of the fourth week of Great Lent, a monastic tonsure was performed at the Meeting of the Lord Mykhniv Convent, according to the press service of the Volyn Eparchy.
The vicar of the eparchy, Bishop Athanasiy of Kamin-Kashyrskyi, tonsured Nun Martha and novice Olga as nuns. Martha received the name Rachel in honor of the Righteous Matriarch, and Olga became Nun Syncletica in honor of Venerable Syncletica of Alexandria.
After the tonsure, Bishop Athanasiy congratulated the newly tonsured nuns and wished them God’s help in their new spiritual service.
As previously reported by the UOJ, monastic tonsures have also recently been performed at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and in the Kherson Eparchy.
