Zelensky expresses confidence about UOC having 'legal connection' with ROC
According to the President of Ukraine, "The Church must re-register legally."
In an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the UOC has "legal connection" with the Russain Orthodox Church.
"At the legislative level, a decision was enacted in Parliament that there can be no Moscow Patriarchate. This means that this Church must re-register legally. There can be no legal connection with Moscow," Zelensky said, without clarifying what exactly he meant by "legal connection".
The president assured that "the Moscow Patriarchate is being closed, there can be no legal connection."
"And they must be a Ukrainian Church, legally in Ukrainian jurisdiction," he concluded.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to Zelensky, banning the UOC is Putin’s narrative.
