The Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (UCCRO) held a meeting with a German delegation from the federal state of Baden-Württemberg in Kyiv. The delegation was led by Manuel Hagel, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of Baden-Württemberg.
UCCRO representatives briefed the guests on the Council’s format of work and spoke about the humanitarian service provided by religious communities amid the war. Council members described the participation of religious communities in supporting societal resilience and the challenges caused by attacks on infrastructure. Religious leaders also separately informed the German guests about the religious persecution of Ukrainian believers in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
Minister Hagel noted that the delegation’s visit from Baden-Württemberg was a visit of solidarity with the Ukrainian people aimed at strengthening Ukraine’s capabilities and developing cooperation. The negotiators identified areas of cooperation and agreed on specific steps.
As the UOJ reported, Dumenko predicted that the UCCRO meeting would be held in Crimea.
