Videos circulating online show Hasidic pilgrims who arrived in Ukraine for Rosh Hashanah being loaded onto buses marked “Armed Forces of Ukraine” at the Vinnytsia bus station for transportation to Uman.
The driver loading the pilgrims’ luggage is dressed in a Ukrainian military uniform.
“They’re mobilizing them straight off the train,” the author of the video jokes. “Now they’re taking them to the enlistment office.”
As previously reported by the UOJ, a new National Guard patrol company has been formed in Uman to provide security for Hasidic pilgrims during Rosh Hashanah.
