Pilgrims from the Khust Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church visited the Patriarch of Jerusalem during a pilgrimage to the holy sites of Jerusalem and other places associated with the earthly life of the Savior, the press service of the Khust Eparchy reported on Facebook.

The pilgrimage to the Holy Land was undertaken with the blessing of the ruling hierarch of the Khust Eparchy, Metropolitan Mark. The group was led by Archimandrite Pimen (Matsola), head of the eparchy’s pilgrimage department.

According to the believers, a highlight of the trip was their meeting with Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, during which the pilgrims received his archpastoral blessing and had an opportunity to speak with the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem.

“The pilgrimage to the Holy Land became a time of prayer and spiritual strengthening for its participants. Visiting the holy sites of Jerusalem allowed the pilgrims to encounter places that preserve the memory of the most important events of Sacred History,” the statement said.

As the UOJ previously reported, Patriarch Theophilos received the Metropolitan of Rivne and pilgrims from his eparchy.
