Procession with Vladimir Icon of Mother of God takes place in Cherkasy region

On July 6, 2025, in the village of Holovkivka, Chyhyryn district, a solemn conciliar episcopal service and a procession took place on the occasion of the celebration of the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God. This was reported on the Telegram channel of the Cherkasy Eparchy of the UOC.

The service was held at the Church of St. John the Theologian, where the Vladimir Icon is revered as one of the main shrines. The Liturgy was led by Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv, concelebrated by vicar bishops of the Cherkasy Eparchy – Fr. John of Zolotonosha and Fr. Antony of Korsun-Shevchenkivskyi, as well as the clergy.

During the service, special prayers were offered for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which is currently facing persecution.

After the Liturgy, a procession took place with the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God, especially revered by the Orthodox people as a patroness and intercessor.

Foolowing the celebrations, Metropolitan Theodosiy addressed the faithful with an archpastoral word.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Bukovyna faithful participated in a multi-thousand procession in Suceava.
