His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry consecrates church in Vyshneve

On October 13, 2019, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, led the consecration of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Seeking the Lost” and celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the city of Vyshneve, the UOC Information and Education Department reports.

Concelebrating with His Beatitude were Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) of Boryspil and Brovary, Chancellor of the UOC; Bishop Kassian (Shostak) of Ivankiv; Bishop Dionysius (Pylypchuk) of Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi; the clergy of the church; and visiting clergy.

At the Little Entrance, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry awarded the church rector, Archpriest Georgiy Ivashchuk, the right to wear a second pectoral cross.

During the service, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry also ordained Deacon Serhiy Fedirko, a cleric of the Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos in Sviatoshyn, to the priesthood.

At the conclusion of the Liturgy, benefactors who had contributed to the construction of the church were presented with Church awards by Metropolitan Onuphry.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that on October 10, a new church dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene was consecrated in Simferopol.
