UOC cleric discusses life of Ukrainian parishes with Hungarian official

The rector of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church parish in Budapest, Priest Dimitry Sidorenko, held a meeting at Hungary's Ministry of Social Affairs and Culture with the Deputy State Secretary for Interfaith Relations, Dr. István Cséti, reports the UOC Information and Education Department.
During the conversation, the clergyman spoke in detail about the activities and mission of the Budapest parish, as well as the spiritual life and ministry of other UOC communities in Hungary. The participants of the meeting paid particular attention to issues of interaction between UOC parishes and Hungarian state bodies.
In memory of the conversation, Priest Dimitry Sidorenko presented Dr. István Cséti with a copy of the church's icon of the Holy Righteous Stephen (István), the first king of Hungary. The meeting created an opportunity for a detailed exchange of views on the life of the Ukrainian Orthodox community in the country and underscored the importance of continuing a constructive dialogue between the Church and the state.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the authorities in Kyiv held a forum to discredit UOC communities in Europe.
