Sumy Eparchy believers venerate miraculous "Bread of Life" icon of Christ

Celebrations were held at the Transfiguration Cathedral in the city of Sumy on the occasion of the commemoration of the second finding of the Malochernechchyna miraculous icon of Christ the Savior "Bread of Life", reports the Sumy Eparchy.

After the festive Liturgy, thousands of pilgrims took part in a religious procession with the miraculous Pochaiv Icon of the Mother of God.

The Divine Liturgy was led by Metropolitan Yevlohiy of Sumy and Okhtyrka, co-served by clergy of the Sumy and neighboring eparchies. The cathedral was filled with numerous parishioners and pilgrims who had come to venerate the holy icon.

On the eve of the feast day, the archpastor officiated at the All-Night Vigil and personally read the canon before the miraculous icon. On the feast, after the reading of the Holy Gospel, Metropolitan Yevlohiy addressed the faithful with a sermon dedicated to the theological significance of the "Bread of Life" icon of Christ.

The clergy and laity offered prayers for peace in Ukraine, the soldiers, and assistance to all those who suffered as a result of military actions. At the conclusion of the Liturgy, a solemn glorification was performed before the Malochernechchyna icon, with the singing of the magnification and the reading of prayers for deliverance from the trials brought by the war.

By the blessing of Metropolitan Yevlohiy, the eparchial clergy conducted an auto cross procession around the city of Sumy with a revered copy of the Malochernechchyna Icon of Christ the Savior.

Previously, the UOJ reported that the miraculous Borzna Icon of the Mother of God was venerated in the Nizhyn Diocese.
