Dnipro businessman Oleksandr Petrovsky, known as a sponsor of the creation of the OCU, was seen at the opening of the Phanarion Orthodox Dialogue Center in Budapest, Strana.ua Telegram channel reports, citing a photo from the event.
Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople personally opened the center on September 5 after arriving in the Hungarian capital the previous day. A photo showing Petrovsky, also known by the nickname “Narik,” together with Greek and Ukrainian clerics was posted by Liliana Grexa, the parliamentary representative of the Ukrainian national minority in Hungary.
As the UOJ reported, in September 2025 Metropolitan Arsenios (Kardamakis) of Austria presented OCU sponsor Oleksandr Petrovsky with the metropolis’s highest award, the Golden Cross. He then brought Petrovsky and his business partner Arutyunyan to an audience with Patriarch Bartholomew, where they discussed new projects to support the Patriarchate of Constantinople.
