Metropolitan Varsonofiy of Vinnytsia and Bar held a memorial service for the newly reposed monk Varsonofiy (Turianskyi), who was brutally murdered at the Sviatohirsk Lavra. The Vinnytsia Eparchy reported this on Facebook.
The hierarch also prayed for the repose of Archimandrite Theodosiy (Shkliaruk), the founder of the Lemeshivka Monastery, on the 10th anniversary of his death.
As a reminder, the armed attack on the Sviatohirsk Lavra took place on August 23, 2026, at around 11:00 a.m. An unidentified man entered the monastery grounds and inflicted serious stab wounds on members of the monastic community. As a result of the attack, monk Varsonofiy died at the scene, while monk Hryhoriy and novice Andrii Kirienko sustained life-threatening injuries.
As the UOJ reported, Met. Clement served a memorial service for the murdered monk of Sviatogorsk Lavra.
