In Uganda, president's daughter becomes bishop of Protestant church

On August 23, 2026, in Uganda, the president's daughter was consecrated as an Episcopal Bishop at Covenant Nations Church in Luzira, reports Pulse Uganda.
The ceremony took place in one of the districts of the capital Kampala and was dedicated to the church's 20th anniversary. The President of Uganda and the First Lady attended their daughter’s consecration.
The head of state's daughter is the founder and senior pastor of Covenant Nations. The ministry began as a small Christian community and over time grew to encompass several congregations.
The consecration to the episcopate was performed by a Protestant preacher who had arrived from the United States. The new bishop had previously organized large evangelistic events and Christian conferences in Uganda.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a Protestant missionary abducted by militants was released in Niger.
