Sybiha invites Putin to take Dmitry Donskoy’s place in sarcophagus

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha commented on reports about the discovery of the remains of Holy Right-Believing Prince Dmitry Donskoy and the possible transfer of part of his relics to Russian service members. He wrote about it on X and later addressed the issue in comments to journalists.

The remarks followed reports that a white-stone sarcophagus containing the nearly complete remains of Prince Dmitry Donskoy had been discovered near the southern wall of the Archangel Cathedral in the Moscow Kremlin. Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly personally inspected the find, after which a decision was approved to send part of the relics to Russian troops at the front.

According to Sybiha, this shows that “Putin has already begun resorting to some astonishing, even comical things.”

“They dug up the skeleton or remains of Dmitry Donskoy, one of their heroes, to take him to the front,” he said.

Continuing his remarks, Sybiha suggested that the Russian president switch places “with this skeleton.”

“That would really help us speed up the end of this war,” Sybiha concluded.

As the UOJ reported, the UOC hierarch had previously commented on Russia's plans to send the relics of Dmitry Donskoy to the front.
