New UOC church of Transfiguration of the Lord founded in Vozsiyatske

Metropolitan Aleksiy of Voznesensk and Pervomaysk on August 21, 2026, performed the rite of founding a church and erecting a Cross in the village of Vozsiyatske of the Yelanets settlement community in the Mykolaiv region, reports the press service of the Voznesensk Eparchy.
The new church will be consecrated in honor of the Transfiguration of the Lord. The hierarch was co-served by the dean of the Yelanets Deanery, Archpriest Nikolai Fatich, Archpriest Nikolai Tochok, and Archpriest Heorhiy Machinsky. During the service, local residents, benefactors, and builders prayed together with the clergy.
At the conclusion of the service, Metropolitan Aleksiy congratulated the clergy and faithful on this memorable event for the community. The hierarch thanked the church benefactors, Tetiana and Hryhorii Demchenko, for their efforts and bestowed his blessing on all those present.
As the UOJ reported, the altar of the UOC Transfiguration Church was consecrated in the village of Zalom in Zakarpattia.
