Bishop Mark of Rakhiv leads patronal feast of UOC parish in Budapest

Bishop Mark of Rakhiv, vicar of the Khust Eparchy, presided over the festive service at a Ukrainian Orthodox parish in Budapest on August 20, 2026, marking the feast day of Holy Righteous Stephen I, King of Hungary. This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Khust Eparchy.
Clergy and numerous parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox community prayed at the service. A special event for the faithful was the bringing of a reliquary containing the relics of St. Job of Uholka and St. Alexius of Carpatho-Rus – two great saints of Zakarpattia, whose relics the faithful were able to venerate and before which they offered prayers.
After the Liturgy, Bishop Mark addressed those gathered with words of spiritual guidance, congratulated the parishioners on their patronal feast, and wished the Ukrainian community peace, spiritual unity, and God’s blessing.
As the UOJ reported, thousands of faithful in Khust took part in a cross procession with the relics of Martyr Gabriel.
