LGBT group in Russia kills associate for going straight

A group of young people associated with the LGBT community has been accused of murdering a man in Omsk after he announced that he no longer shared the group's views and intended to pursue a relationship with a woman. The case was reported by the Mash Telegram channel.
According to investigators, the members of the group met online and had relocated to Omsk from Yekaterinburg and St. Petersburg. When the young man stated that he no longer wished to be part of the group and planned to build a relationship with a woman, the others allegedly decided to kill him.
The victim was reportedly lured to a remote area, tied up, and stabbed multiple times in the neck and chest. Sources cited in the report say the suspects believed he had personally betrayed them by his decision.
The group allegedly included three women and three men. All six suspects, aged between 20 and 25, have been detained and placed in custody. A criminal investigation has been opened into the killing.
As the UOJ previously reported, the first openly transgender state legislator in the United States was sentenced in a child sexual abuse case.
