Danish authorities raise alarm over “creeping Islamization”

A Danish government representative stressed that, due to the uncontrolled spread of religious symbols and practices, some areas of Denmark have begun to resemble “a suburb of Islamabad.” Danish Immigration Minister Kaare Dybvad Bek accused Islamic communities of “creeping Islamization” that is taking up too much public space. This was reported by The Telegraph.

The Danish authorities have already reopened an inquiry into the legality of introducing a nationwide ban on broadcasting the Muslim call to prayer over loudspeakers.

Currently, in cities such as Copenhagen, such calls are restricted only by local noise regulations. Although the country’s constitution guarantees freedom of religion, the government intends to place residents’ right to peace and quiet above the interests of mosques.

As part of its policy to combat “ghettos,” Danish authorities are already applying strict measures, including the forced relocation of migrants from areas with a high concentration of foreign residents. Denmark also requires asylum seekers to hand over valuables and jewelry to cover the cost of their upkeep.

As the UOJ reported, a muezzin called Muslims to prayer for the first time in a Canadian city.
