In Odesa, believers urged not to write memorial notes for living TRC officers

In one of Odesa's churches, parishioners have reportedly been submitting the names of living employees of Ukraine's Territorial Center of Recruitment and Social Support (TRC) in memorial prayer notes for the departed. The parish administration has urged the faithful to stop the practice. The report was published by the Shelestlive Telegram channel.
"Dear parishioners! Please do not submit memorial notes for the repose of TRC employees. Fear God," the notice posted at the candle stand reads.
The report does not specify which religious denomination the church belongs to. The printed memorial note forms are in Ukrainian.
According to popular superstitions and occult beliefs, submitting memorial notes for the repose that include the names of living people is thought to bring serious illness and misfortune upon those whose names are listed.
As the UOJ previously reported, a cleric of the UOC's Intercession Monastery in Rivne region was allegedly abducted by TRC officers.
