On June 4, 2026, celebrations were held at the Holy Trinity Korets Stavropegial Convent as the Church honored the Korets Icon of the Mother of God, “Surety of Sinners.” The festive Divine Liturgy at the monastery was celebrated by Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary, Chancellor of the UOC, he reported on his Facebook page.
Concelebrating with the hierarch were Metropolitan Pimen of Rivne and Ostroh, Archbishop Alexander of Horodnytsia, Archbishop Damian of Fastiv, and Archbishop Ambrose of Zghurivka. Clergy of the monastery, visiting priests, Abbess Parthenia and the sisters, together with abbesses of other women’s monasteries, also prayed at the service. Numerous parishioners and guests from across Ukraine came to Korets to venerate the miraculous icon.
After the reading of the Holy Gospel, Metropolitan Anthony addressed the pilgrims with a sermon, stressing the importance of placing one’s hope in the help of the Most Holy Theotokos in difficult times. Prayers were also offered during the service for peace in Ukraine.
At the conclusion of the celebration, Metropolitan Anthony congratulated the hierarchs, Mother Abbess, and all those present on the feast of the Korets shrine.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the icon of the Mother of God “Seeking of the Lost” was honored at Biliv Convent.
