Orthodox Christians mark Trinity Parental Saturday on May 30, 2026. This day is considered one of the main days of commemoration of the departed in the church calendar. The memorial day takes its name from its proximity to the Feast of the Holy Trinity, which the Church celebrates the following day.
Trinity Saturday belongs to the Universal Parental Saturdays, as on this day believers pray for all baptized Christians from the beginning of time. In churches, memorial services are performed and the Lord is asked for the repose of the souls of departed brothers and sisters in faith.
The Church calls upon the faithful to pray intensively for parents and loved ones who have departed into eternity. Such commemoration reminds Christians of the unbreakable spiritual connection between generations and the importance of prayer for departed relatives.
Believers bring memorial notes to churches and participate in the Liturgy and memorial service. The commemoration of all who have reposed from the ages before the birthday of the Universal Church emphasizes that with God there are no dead, but all are alive in His love.
