OCU announces seizure of UOC cathedral in Kremenchuk after Trinity

Supporters of the OCU are preparing to seize the Holy Trinity Cathedral of the UOC in Kremenchuk next week. As "Archimandrite" Theodosiy of the OCU stated in a comment to "Suspilne", his structure decided to wait for the end of the patronal feast before proceeding to evict the believers of the canonical Church.

According to the OCU representative, Dumenko's supporters decided to "allow" the UOC community to hold the last service in the cathedral this coming Sunday. The schismatics are trying to present this pause in the seizure of the shrine as an act of mercy.

"We decided this as a gesture of good will. Trinity Sunday will be the temple feast day, we will give them the opportunity to serve it for the last time, and then we will enter," Theodosiy declared.

At the same time, the OCU representative admitted that there is no official agreement or compromise with UOC believers. The decision to wait several days is an initiative of the raiders themselves, who expect to begin their own "services" in the church immediately after the feast.

The situation around the cathedral remains extremely tense. Earlier, UOC believers already defended the Holy Trinity Church from OCU attempts to seize it. Despite the fact that the community built and maintained this church for years, the OCU claims its "rights" to the building, citing decisions of judicial instances.
