Monastic tonsure performed at St. Nicholas Convent of Horodok

On April 3, 2026, on the eve of Lazarus Saturday, at the Horodok St. Nicholas Monastery of the Rivne Eparchy of the UOC, two novices were tonsured, reports the monastery's Facebook page.

The tonsure into the lesser schema was performed by the rector of the St. John the Theologian Church in the village of Barmaky, Archimandrite Vasily.

The newly tonsured nuns received the names Tabitha and Taisia.

"May the merciful Lord strengthen those newly tonsured on the path of the monastic vocation, grant them strength in prayer, patience in obedience, and peace in their hearts," the message says.

As the UOJ reported, monastic tonsure was performed at St. George's Metochion of the Horodok Convent.
