On April 2, 2026, a monastic tonsure took place at the Holy Transfiguration Monastery in the village of Talova Balka. The rite was headed by Metropolitan Boрolep of Oleksandriia and Svitlovodsk, reports the UOC Information Center.
During the tonsure, the monastery residents received new names. Archpriest Alexey took the name Arsenius in honor of Venerable Arsenius of Pechersk. Novice Vitaly became monk Euphrosynus in honor of Venerable Euphrosynus of Palestine.
Upon completion of the tonsure, Metropolitan Boholep addressed the new monks with words of archpastoral instruction. The hierarch called constant prayer, humility and love for God the main foundations of the monastic path.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that a monastic tonsure was performed at the St. George Metochion of the Horodok Monastery.
