Dumenko takes control of St. Volodymyr's Cathedral in Kyiv

On March 23, 2026, the head of the OCU Serhiy Dumenko conducted a memorial service for Filaret Denysenko at St. Volodymyr's Cathedral of the UOC-KP, and also accepted the clergy of the temple led by rector Borys Tabachek into his organization.

"Based on their submitted petitions, the Primate presented decrees confirming the continuation of their ministry among the clergy of the cathedral, which is a religious community belonging to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, in accordance with the decisions of the Local Council of the UOC-KP and the Unification Council held at Saint Sophia's Cathedral on December 15, 2018," says the press service statement of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the new "Patriarch" of the UOC-KP Nikodim accused the authorities of complicity in the OCU's raiding of the Kyiv Patriarchate's property.
