On December 11, 2025, Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking to journalists at a meeting held on Bankova Street, responded to a question about whether the United States supports Russia’s position regarding the status of the UOC in peace agreements.
“In our draft framework agreement – those 20 points – everything is written in accordance with international law. There is international law – this is a fact that everyone must recognize, and it is the only thing that can unite everyone,” Zelensky said.
According to him, Ukraine formulated its approach to certain points of the plan with the understanding that it would become a member of the European Union in the future.
“Therefore, the attitude toward such issues will correspond to European legislation – to those norms that are fundamental for the European Union,” Zelensky emphasized.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to a former MP, the instruction to place Metropolitan Arseniy in pre-trial detention was given personally by Zelensky.
