In December 2025, the European Commission the European Commission excluded all six of its recent project applications from EU funding, stating that the projects "contravene EU equality provisions" and do not meet the requirements for gender diversity. This was reported by the resource European Conservative.
The Federation of Catholic Family Associations in Europe (FAFCE) believes that the European Commission punished them for their Christian understanding of the family and refusal to conform to the LGBT agenda. The organization emphasizes that their projects were aimed at supporting the family, raising children, and protecting human dignity, but received low scores precisely due to non-compliance with gender criteria.
The EU's decision sparked a sharp reaction from politicians. The exclusion of FAFCE has prompted broader political reactions. Hungarian MEP Kinga Gál, Vice President of the Patriots for Europe group, also condemned the Commission’s decision, calling it “the highest form of discrimination on the basis of gender ideology”.
Similar criticism was voiced by Hungarian Ombudsman Bernadett Petri. According to her, the European Union is increasingly moving away from the Christian foundations of Europe and is beginning to punish organizations that openly support the traditional family model.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the international organization Women's Institute (WI) will ban membership for trans individuals.
