Supreme Court to consider DESS's appeal on liquidation of Korets Monastery

The Supreme Court of Ukraine has scheduled an appellate hearing for case No. 855/14/25 concerning the lawsuit filed by the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience regarding the cessation of activities of the Korets Holy Trinity Women's Stavropegic Monastery, as reported on the DESS website.

The court session is scheduled for December 18, 2025, at the Cassation Administrative Court within the Supreme Court (Kyiv, Knyaziv Ostrozkykh St., 8, bldg. 5).

The appeal review will concern the measures of securing the claim filed by DESS demanding the liquidation of the monastery's legal entity.

As reported by the UOJ, the Court of Appeal returned DESS's lawsuit on the liquidation of the Korets Monastery. Following this, the State Service filed a complaint with the Supreme Court, demanding the case be reopened. On November 24, the Supreme Court of Ukraine opened appellate proceedings on the case.
