The hegumen of the Holy Monastery of Agia Skepi of the Metropolis of Sidirokastro of the Church of Greece, Archimandrite Dositheos, in a conversation with the UOJ, emphasized that only the Orthodox Church is the true Church of Christ, while other religious communities and movements distort the truth and lead people away from salvation.
According to the hegumen, only the Orthodox Church preserves the fullness of truth and grace capable of healing a person. "It is the only true universal Church that can heal a person both spiritually and physically. The evidence is our saints, millions of saints. No other so-called religion gives saints because only Christ is the true God and Savior," he emphasized.
"Christ has only one Church – Orthodox. The rest are heresies that distort the truth. Unfortunately, some Orthodox try to legitimize them, claiming that there are other Churches. But this is an abomination called the World Council of Churches», said Father Dositheos.
He also expressed support for Metropolitan Tychikos of Paphos, who was pressured and removed from service for his fidelity to the Orthodox faith and tradition.
"Here in Cyprus, there is a blessed man who wanted to preserve the faith as Christ commands," said the abbot. "He endures so much, he is literally being torn apart in the full sense of the word. This is what our hierarchs have come to. Such are they».
According to Fr. Dositheos, spiritual renewal is possible only through repentance and the return of hierarchs to the apostolic faith. "If they repented and preserved the faith of the apostles, saints, and martyrs, everything would immediately change for all humanity. Not only us, but all humanity," concluded the elder.
Earlier, the UOJ reported the words of Archimandrite Dositheos that modern society has surpassed Sodom and Gomorrah, and LGBT propaganda contributes to spiritual degradation.
