A court hearing to determine pretrial detention measures for Metropolitan Arseniy (Yakovenko) of Sviatohirsk will take place on October 29, 2025.

According to UOJ sources, on October 28, Metropolitan Arseniy was released from the pretrial detention center but was immediately taken to the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), where he was held until midnight.

Afterward, SBU officers brought the hierarch to a hospital, where they obtained a medical report stating that Metropolitan Arseniy was allegedly healthy.

On this topic Metropolitan Arseniy released from SIZO to be immediately taken by SBU

He was then returned to the SBU building and made to wait from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m. before being placed back into detention.

In the morning, a new court hearing will be held regarding the latest case against Metropolitan Arseniy. It is likely that the court will impose pretrial detention as a preventive measure. So far, there have been no official comments from law enforcement agencies.

As the UOJ previously reported, on September 30, due to a deterioration in his health, Metropolitan Arseniy, the abbot of the Holy Dormition Sviatohirsk Lavra, was taken to a hospital in Dnipro for a cardiac and vascular examination by a cardiologist and arrhythmologist. The arrhythmologist determined that he required heart surgery, and other specialists recommended a comprehensive medical evaluation.
