UOC priest wounded by drone strike near Kostiantynivka

On September 27, 2025, near Kostyantynivka, UOC priest Ihor Kozlov came under a drone strike and was seriously wounded, Archbishop Jonah reported.
According to him, Fr. Ihor was returning from a service in Kostyantynivka when his car was hit by an enemy drone. The vehicle was burned, and Father Ihor miraculously survived, sustaining a severe traumatic brain injury, skull fractures, injuries to his limbs and chest, as well as burns.
The priest underwent brain surgery, and his condition remains seriously grave. He is conscious and able to speak, but has partially lost his memory.
Archbishop Jonah stated that 50,000 UAH is needed for treatment. The family is unable to cover the costs.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that due to the war in Ukraine, 700 churches have been destroyed, half of them belonging to the UOC.
