Dumenko: “True peace is freedom of thought and faith”

The leader of the OCU, Serhiy (Epifaniy) Dumenko, stated that not every kind of peace suits Ukraine in its war with Russia.
“Where violence rules, where there is no freedom, where the right to be Ukrainian is taken away, there is no true peace,” said Serhii Petrovych, and went on to explain what, in his view, true peace is.
“It is the protection of life and human rights, justice, freedom of thought and faith!” he emphasized, apparently having the situation in Ukraine in mind.
How these words relate to the unlawful mobilization of priests, the seizures of churches, and the persecution and arrests of UOC clergy and laity, Dumenko did not mention.
According to him, the international community and Ukrainians “must act decisively, and not wait for peace to happen by itself.”
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the head of the UGCC, Sviatoslav Shevchuk, criticized the idea of “peace at any price” and stated that “genuine peace is bound up with truth and justice for the victims, the restoration of international law, and accountability for the perpetrators.”
