On September 19, 2025, the vicar of the Khust Eparchy, Archbishop Simeon of Uhlia, served the rite of consecration of the Holy Table and the Divine Liturgy in the newly built house church of the Holy Spirit at the Holy-Spirit Skete in the village of Synevyrska Poliana, Zakarpattia. The hierarch reported this on his Facebook page.
During the service, the hierarch and clergy offered special prayers for peace in Ukraine.
At the end of the Liturgy, Archbishop Simeon said in his homily that the consecration of a new church is a special event for every Orthodox community. According to him, God’s house is a place where everyone can find consolation.
“Here we will raise our prayers together for peace, for health, and for the salvation of each person. The new church is a sign of your community’s living faith; it is a testimony that Christ dwells among us. May these holy walls always be filled with prayer, may love and unity grow here, and may the Lord richly bless everyone who crosses the threshold of this holy house in faith,” the archpastor said.
He thanked Archimandrite Spiridon, through whose labors and the joint efforts of all parishioners and benefactors this church was erected.
As the UOJ reported, a newborn baby was recently found at a UOC monastery in Zakarpattia.
