OCU concerned about condition of "Honorary Patriarch" Filaret Denysenko

On August 26, 2025, the official website of the OCU published a message stating that the "Honorary Patriarch" Filaret has an "obvious deterioration in health" and needs the prayers of the Ukrainian faithful.
There is no information about Filaret’s condition on the official resources of the UOC-KP. On the Telegram channel "For the Ukrainian Church", related to the Kyiv Patriarchate, it is claimed that Filaret is undergoing scheduled follow-up examinations and treatment, and that his condition is satisfactory.
"The person in his 97th year of life requires careful attention from doctors. And this is natural," wrote the authors of the channel.
They also urged not to believe the messages from the OCU.
"The redhaired talker Yevstratiy Zoria has already imagined himself a doctor and is making diagnoses, writing about an 'obvious' deterioration in health," the message reads.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the UOC-KP accused Zoria of spreading fake news about Filaret's health.
