Dumenko discusses support for Ukraine in Islamic world with Grand Mufti

On August 19, 2025, the head of the OCU, Serhiy Dumenko, received in his residence an Islamic delegation led by the head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Ukraine, the Grand Mufti Sheikh Ahmed Tamim. Tamim is currently chairing the Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (UCCRO).
The parties discussed "strengthening support for Ukraine on the international stage, including in the Islamic world," "advocacy foreign trips of UCCRO representatives, response to criminal Russian encroachments in the religious field of Ukraine, participation in international religious events."
Dumenko also presented the Mufti with a OCU award.
The meeting was attended by OCU spokesperson Zoria and the head of the board of the Institute for Religious Freedom, Oleksandr Zaiets.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the authorities praised the UCCRO for "religious diplomacy".
