Acting abbot appointed in Starokostiantyniv Monastery

On August 8, 2025, Metropolitan Viktor of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv appointed Archimandrite Feodosiy (Slobodianiuk) as the acting abbot of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Monastery in the city of Starokostiantyniv. This was reported on the official Telegram channel of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy of the UOC.
The corresponding decision was announced at a meeting of the eparchial Council. Archimandrite Feodosiy will also continue to serve as the dean for monastery affairs of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy and the abbot of the St. John the Forerunner Monastery in the village of Velyka Kalynivka.
The former abbot, Archimandrite Ioasaf (Horkavchuk), was removed from his position due to a tragic incident – on August 3, a person died on the monastery grounds. A final decision regarding Archimandrite Ioasaf will be made following the investigation and legal assessment of the incident. The council members unanimously supported the corresponding personnel changes.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Khmelnytsky Diocese dispelled a fake about a murder in the Starokostiantyniv monastery.
