Abbot of German monastery supports Metropolitan Longin

Schema-Archimandrite Johannes, Abbot of the German Orthodox Holy Trinity Monastery in Buchhagen, in an interview with the UOJ in Germany, commented on the persecution of Metropolitan Longin of Bancheny.
"This confessor has accomplished a wonderful work: the beautiful monastery, the orphanages, all the beauty and goodness. Furthermore, His Excellency Longin has been deeply committed to defending Holy Tradition," noted the clergyman.
Schema-Archimandrite Johannes wished the UOC hierarch and all Orthodox believers to be strengthened in God and persevere in these times of temptation.
"That oppression and persecution will end, not least the malicious slanders and the vile show trial," emphasized the well-known elder.
Schema-Archimandrite Johannes said, "It's clear that there are envious people, slanderers, and attacks – even in normal times, and even more so in times of war and political turmoil. For the devil hates everything beautiful and good, everything that comes from God. The fact that this man is under such attack is proof that he is genuine."
As the UOJ wrote, the abbot of the German monastery is convinced that the current turmoil in Orthodoxy is the devil's work.
