Chorniiv: Church built with funds of AFU fallen soldier's family consecrated

On May 24, 2025, on the anniversary of the death of the soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Tarasiy, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Volyn and Kovel performed the consecration of the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Chorniiv. As reported by the eparchy's press service, the church was built with funds of the fallen defender's family.
After the consecration, Metropolitan Volodymyr led the first Divine Liturgy at the church. The hierarch of the UOC was concelebrated by the dean, Protodeacon Vitaliy Duda, the rector of the church, Protodeacon Vitaliy Chaban, and the clergy of the district.
During the service, special prayer petitions were offered for peace in Ukrainian land, the defenders of Ukraine and deliverance from the enemy.
After the liturgy, a moleben was performed with the sprinkling of holy water and a requiem service for the soldier Tarasiy.
As reported by the UOJ, a church was consecrated in Kovel in the temple complex of the Pochaiv Icon of the Mother of God.
