On May 21, 2025, a hearing took place in the Northern Appeal Economic Court regarding the lawsuit of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra against the National Reserve for the right to use the churches of the Upper Lavra, as reported on the Telegram channel "Fortress Lavra".

During the hearing, the defense submitted appeal complaints from the monks of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The brotherhood had previously filed petitions as a third party regarding the violation of their rights to freely practice their religion and conduct religious rites. The court rejected these petitions at the previous hearing.

On May 21, the judge also did not satisfy the appeal complaints of the monks of the monastery.

The next court hearing regarding the Upper Lavra has been scheduled for May 26 at 14:30.

During the hearing, believers prayed near the courthouse. An elderly provocateur, who had previously been repeatedly noticed near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, also came there. He caused a scandal while the Orthodox were praying.

As reported by the UOJ, the Lavra Reserve invites visitors with entertainments involving guns and sabers.
