Date of Pope Leo XIV’s enthronement announced

On May 9, 2025, the Vatican announced the date of the solemn enthronement of the new Pope.

According to Reuters, the official ceremony marking the beginning of Pope Leo XIV’s pontificate will take place on Sunday, May 18, at St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican.

In addition, his first general audience with the faithful is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21.

Earlier, UOJ reported that on May 8, 2025, the Vatican conclave of cardinals elected the new Roman pontiff.
